Easy 5 Ingredient Homemade Peppermint Bark


Peppermint is one of my favorite holiday flavors! In combination with white chocolate and milk chocolate, this festive treat is the perfect homemade gift.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 4.4 ounce bar of white chocolate

  • 4.4 ounce bar of milk chocolate

  • peppermint essential oil

  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes




DIRECTIONS:

  1. Break the white chocolate into small pieces, add 1/2 tsp vegetable oil & microwave for 2 minutes or until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Add 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and stir.

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, and pour the melted white chocolate into a thin layer. Freeze for at least 15 minutes.

  3. Break the milk chocolate into small pieces, add 1/2 tsp vegetable oil & microwave for 2 minutes or until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Add 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and stir.

  4. Pour the melted milk chocolate over the frozen white chocolate and top with crushed peppermints. Freeze for at least an hour

  5. Break up into peppermint bark shaped pieces.


RECIPE NOTES:

  • Don't worry about getting your chocolate layers smooth and perfect, the peppermint candy will cover any imperfections!

  • 2 drops of peppermint oil doesn't sound like much, but trust me! It's very concentrated and exceeding this will leave you with a very tingly mouth.
